Fellow friends of Teresa Schweitzer, there a few things she didn't tell you. She has a successfully built and shot (legally) fireworks. The big ones! It was a joy having her and Ms. Thirsty visit us and meeting the Rat-Wiener, Ms. Liesl.
Thanks again for sharing so far! I've really enjoyed riding along vicariously. The little and big discoveries, the learning, even the hardships, yeah, I sometimes wonder if I wouldn't be happier out there too. Maybe it's time to hit the road again soon.
Something I forgot to mention here: between Ames and Vinton, I noticed the trees affected by the derechos of years past. Branches that broke in those tremendous winds had sprouted new growth, affecting the shape of the trees. Instead of a gradual thinning of branches, there were distinct demarcations of large branches that have resprouted with just a few years of growth.

Thank you, Tom! You're the best!

Thank you! Mom asked about you and says "hi". :-)
